Toasted Marshmallow Latte

I wanted to share with you a really fun latte recipe that my sister and I have been making for years. Our original drink was made iced, one hot Summer afternoon on a whim because I had a jar of marshmallow fluff in my cabinet. I actually prefer this drink iced, because I think it brings out the flavors more. I encourage you to try it both ways and see which you prefer. I have done this with actual marshmallows (the bigger the better! haha) and marshmallow fluff, but I have to say, marshmallow fluff is where it’s at!

Ok enough chit-chat, let’s jump right into the recipe, because that is what you’re here for. :)

To make an iced toasted marshmallow latte you’ll need:

2 shots of espresso (or 3, or 4…who am I to judge! ;) hehe)

about 6 oz of milk (I like less milk and more ice.)

Vanilla Syrup or Toasted Marshmallow syrup. –The Torani’s Toasted Marshmallow syrup is more nutty and I think is actually less sweet than vanilla syrup and perfect for this drink. I love it. *This is not a sponsored post, I just really love Torani syrups and lately am on a BIG toasted marshmallow syrup kick! I definitely recommend trying it.

Marshmallow fluff. (or Marshmallows)

Kitchen Torch (or one of those long candle lighters)

Glass (I use a mason jar.) You’ll want something that you can torch in and evenly put your marshmallow fluff on top to torch.

ice

time to make the drink!

Add your choice of syrup to your glass. (note: I use about 1 TBSP of syrup.)

pull your shots of espresso. swirl to combine.

add your milk. (fun fact: you want to add your milk within about 10 seconds of pulling your shot for best taste results. so make sure to have your milk all ready to go.)

add ice.

top with marshmallow fluff. *I recommend spraying a spoon with cooking spray so it doesn’t stick. –if you’re using actual marshmallows, I’d say a handful of small ones, or one large marshmallow.

using a kitchen torch (or to be honest I have also done this with a candle lighter.) the torch is better though, but the lighter works if you are reading this and want to make it now.) torch the top of the marshmallow fluff. (or marshmallows.) BUT only until it starts to toast. You can brown it, but you don’t want it getting too hot and melting the ice…..

***Don’t over torch the fluff or you will melt all the ice. If you just lightly toast it, it will be perfect because the fluff kind of creates a seal on top of the coffee.

Drink & ENJOY If you make this, please let me know. Send me a message or tag me on Instagram!
