Broken Healing Through Christ

Let me ask you a question. Now be honest with yourself, and well I can’t hear your answer so there’s no need to be shy. ;) Really think about what I am about to ask you. Ok?  When you look in the mirror what do you see?  I’m not asking what you physically see. I mean, when you look at yourself and look deep into your heart, what do you see? Do you see broken?  Do you see pain and the burdens of your past mistakes? If you are like most people, you said, “Yes.” Because in some way, we are all broken. Perhaps you even started to cry and couldn’t get the words out so only a whisper was spoken.

God took human form and walked this world. He felt the pain and hurt we are feeling and knows what we are going through. He created us to feel. Even if that feeling is pain, you know why? Because it draws us closer to Him…..

Did you know when God looks at you, he sees your heart? Do me a favor, get up and look at yourself in the mirror and tell me what you see? Go ahead, I’ll wait here for you :) Ok now tell me, What did you see? Did you instantly see all your physical flaws? Perhaps you saw the mistakes of your teenage years?  Years of rebellion and anger. Or maybe you saw hurt and broken from your past or current relationship. Have you forgiven yourself for your past mistakes? Because God has! Have you changed your ways of anger and rebellion? Well then God sees your heart and how beautiful you’ve become. He rejoiced over you with singing and dancing when you sat by your bed and prayed that prayer all those years ago for Him to forgive you and your mistakes. He heard you and forgave you. Now isn’t it time to forgive yourself? I think so. ;)

Matthew West has a beautiful song called, Mended. I really encourage you to listen to it. Especially if you are feeling at all connected to what I am talking about. One of my favorite lines is;

You see your worst mistake,
but I see the price I paid.
There’s nothing you could ever do, to lose what grace has won!

Really and truly God can heal your deepest pain. Your darkest secrets. Your biggest mistakes. He can and He wants to, you just have to seek Him and He will do the rest. 1 John 1:9 tells us, that if repent and confess our sins that God will forgive us. What a beautiful blessing to know that there is healing for the broken and you know what? We are all broken humans and that’s exactly why we need Jesus. To make us whole. To give us the broken healing.
